    This portal has started as a joint project by the federal agencies CTI/KTI (Commission for Technology and Innovation), seco and BBT in 2004/05. The federal partners were joined early on by the leading life science clusters of Switzerland, the SIX Swiss Exchange and as leading partner, the Swiss Biotech Association. The day-to-day management is done by the Webcenter of ZHAW and Bridge Plus AG. Bridge Plus AG also manages the Swiss Biotech Association. The site is a non-for profit project and intends to create awareness for the sector.

  • WADA - World Anti-Doping Agency
    WADA was established in 1999 as an international independent agency composed and funded equally by the sport movement and governments of the world. Its key activities include scientific research, education, development of anti-doping capacities, and monitoring of the World Anti Doping Code (Code) – the document harmonizing anti-doping policies in all sports and all countries.

    Since 1 July 2008, the Antidoping Switzerland foundation has been the independent centre of excellence for fighting doping in Switzerland. Antidoping Switzerland receives its funding from the Confederation and from Swiss Olympic.

Toxicology

  • TIAFT - The International Association of Forensic Toxicologists
    The aims of this association are to promote cooperation and coordination of efforts among members and to encourage research in forensic toxicology. The members come from the police force, medical examiners and coroners' laboratories, horseracing and sports doping laboratories, hospitals, departments of legal medicine, pharmacology, pharmacy and toxicology.
     
  • TOX / STIC - Swiss Toxicological Information Centre
    The Tox, initiated in 1966 by the Swiss Society of Pharmacists (pharmasuisse) in cooperation with the University of Zurich, is a Foundation devoted to Toxicological Information with particular emphasis on Poison Control.
    The STIC is presently supported by the Swiss Cantons, the University of Zurich, the scienceindustries and the main Swiss Insurance Organisations (SUVA, santésuisse (SAS) ) and the Swiss Society of Pharmacists (pharmaSuisse ).
    • It provides free medical advice in cases of poisoning and poisoning risks to everybody in Switzerland around the clock.
    • It collects case reports from the treating physicians.
    • It produces risk-assessment reports for the medical community, as well as for government and industry.
    • It is active in the field of prevention.
    • The STIC is engaged in research and education. It is an associated institute of the University of Zurich (faculty of medicine).
